'People are fearful' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal are now many people's top picks to secure the Premier League this season.

Examine their outcomes against Fulham and Crystal Palace compared to those identical matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them during this campaign, but dropped 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race previously.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a crucial element why they are seeming ready to finally fulfil their title goal.

They lead the league for shutouts (6), goals conceded (3), shots faced (72), shots on target faced (19) and xGA (5.3).

The defensive partnership of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Dominance

Their effectiveness from free kicks is widely recognized, but competing clubs still don't know how to stop the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, several additional than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just fearful of them and it is great to see."

Championship Pedigree

What is particularly impressive about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City on home turf - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they maintain victories, their historic competitors aren't faring so well. This marks the initial occasion at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on manager Mikel Arteta at the start, having allocated around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in quest of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the business has so far yielded results in remarkable manner, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and having the most resilient defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without letting in a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and pundits have characterized Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now operating with conviction and resolve.
